So far I have pointed out the items that seem most dangerous to a free society. The violations of the Bill of Rights, The Executive Branch ruling by edict essentially ignoring Congress and the Courts, and so on. I have also proposed ideas on how to address these grievances. I hope that these might become a starting point for rebuilding our nation to stronger and united.
After reviewing the State of the Union address by Donald J. Trump, during which he boasted of economic growth, more tariffs, more deportations and how he has made life better for all of us.
I will tell how I feel about this “better for all of us” :
Here’s how I feel
- I do not feel safe, I am, according to the Department of Homeland Security, a “leftist terrorist”, which means that even though I am a Citizen of the United States I could be deported or killed by the Trump Brown Shirts (ICE for those who thought learning history was a waste of time) or from the Donald Trump Cultists.
- Being that my personal retirement fund got used for living expenses during the CoVid Pandemic when Trump was President, I don’t have stocks so I don’t care about how high the stock market goes, it means nothing other than the Fat Cats are getting Fatter. The tariffs this year have cost me over $2000.00 in increased prices for goods. The price of beef, chicken, and pork is totally outrageous. Bread is up, dairy goods are up, gasoline is down, but everything else I have to maintain my vehicles is up. My utilities are up by about 6%. And to top it off, I get to pay the Fat Cats who not only passed on the tariffs to me, I get to pay them a profit on the privilege. Now the only asset I have left is my property that I have, over the last 35 years, put close to $500,000 into improvements and maintenance. The county is now taxing me at an unsustainable level (at least the insurance is pretty stable)and because I am solely dependent my SSA, which Project 2025 wants to end, I wont be able to afford the tax payments. So much for making things more affordable under this Administration. All I see is an empty wallet.
- Donald J. Trump has gotten into a long term “arrangement” with Venezuela, he got rid of their Dictator but left his regime in place and the is literally stealing their oil. This “arrangement” is going to blow up in faces when the Venezuelans realize that THEY can control their own country and start fighting us – We will be paying a trillion dollars to support the Trump Puppet Government and lose in the end.
- Looks like we are going to try bombing Iran into the stone age and with their network of proxies around the world there will not be a place in or out of this country where US citizens will be safe.
- We no longer have willing allies who will come to our aid like they did for the Afghanistan war. Trump’s attempts to bully them, take their land and otherwise insult their rights as sovereign nations have got them not only worrying about Putin and China but now us as well.
The State of The Union is not as rosy as Donald J. Trump and his cronies and lackeys are trying to sell us. We have no governance, the guardrails are torn and twisted, the balance of power no longer exists. People of this country are frightened, they have lost access to health care, child care, fair and honest wages, their place to live, food on their table, and they are losing hope.
Since the State of The Union Speech we have Trump looking for ways to control the outcome of the Midterm Elections or to stop them entirely, ICE is buying warehouses for detention centers and if you think they just for Illegal Aliens – think again what happens to you if you get picked up by ICE or their “Deputies” and put into a warehouse – oh and by the way they buying incinerators as well. If you believe you can just stick your head in the sand and ignore the preparatory actions that this Administration is putting in place then I hope you live long enough to be forcibly led through the places where people were beaten, starved, denied healthcare and died to see the piles of clothes, and the bodies they did not get around to burning and see what compliance with the Administration has led to. Then you can go back to your third world survival existence. Our mandate from every religion I have studied is to “LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR” is doesn’t get any simpler than that and you should recognize this administration does not care about any one of you, including you rich people who think you own Trump.
For the honor and sacrifices of everyone in my family who fought for this country in every war from the Revolution to the Afghanistan/Iraq wars, those who, during economic hardships, saw that there was always an extra place at the table, that all people were treated with kindness and respect and that everyone had a chance to live the best life they could, I will NOT go quietly. I will fight for the country I was taught to believe that is the Beacon of Hope.
I will be at the demonstrations, I will be documenting injustice to my neighbor, I will be voting or advocating the States to, in accordance with the Constitution hold elections, and demand that they be fair. I will be asking our people serving the military to remember their oath is to the Constitution and by extension to WE THE PEOPLE and to stand with WE THE PEOPLE, I will render aid to those who are in need. I will fight to rebuild this country and institute the reforms like I have outlined here. I have used the name Publius, but Publius is ALL the people and we ALL must stand for something at some point. Let us stand together to move our homeland to being the Beacon of Hope to the world once more.
